Founder, Wright Path Educational Consulting
Alyssa Wright is an accomplished educational leader, special education expert, and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (B.C.B.A.) with nearly 30 years of experience in teaching, supervision, and pupil services. She currently teaches graduate courses at the University of Pennsylvania, where she specializes in education law, IDEA compliance, and instructional practices for diverse learners.
As a B.C.B.A., Alyssa brings a unique perspective to behavior support planning, functional behavior assessments, and the design of evidence-based interventions. Her expertise blends behavioral science with deep knowledge of special education systems, making her a valuable partner to both families and school districts.
Throughout her career, Alyssa has held leadership roles across New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, ranging from special education teacher to supervisor, director, and consultant. She is known for her strategic program development, data-driven behavioral frameworks, and commitment to inclusive, legally sound education practices.
As the founder of Wright Path Educational Consulting, she empowers families and schools to navigate complex educational systems, implement effective programming, and advocate for student success.
Alyssa holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Arizona, an M.S. in Special Education from Long Island University, and multiple leadership and specialist certifications. She is currently pursuing her Ed.D. at Delaware Valley University.
Help families understand, navigate, and improve their child’s education plans.
Attend meetings or provide behind-the-scenes coaching to advocate for student needs and rights.
Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and provide positive behavior support strategies.
Assist families in exploring and evaluating public, private, or specialized placement options.
Help parents access and interpret services for infants and toddlers (birth–3) and preschoolers (ages 3–5).
Provide training on supporting learning, behavior, and regulation at home.
Support families in developing transition plans from high school to adulthood, including post-secondary education, employment, and independent living.
Teach families about IDEA, Section 504, state regulations, and how to assert their rights effectively.
Evaluate compliance, instructional quality, and service delivery in special education, 504, MTSS, and pupil services programs.
Implement PBIS frameworks, train staff on behavior intervention, and review existing behavior plans and policies.
Mentor new or transitioning leaders and offer strategic guidance on effective program leadership.
Consult on district- or building-level crisis plans related to student needs, behavioral incidents, or medical fragility.
Prepare for state audits, corrective action planning, or improvement plans tied to IDEA or 504 compliance.
Design systems that support collaboration and transparency between families and schools.
Serve as a short-term support for vacancies in director/supervisor roles in pupil services or special education.
